Caves of the heart- I

                  I.

In the caves of the heart where pain taps out its rhythm and

sorrow sets its loss to song, where passion vibrates along its own

taut strings, we are all equal.

There, where we seem to be most alone is where we most truly not, if the depths

of that heart are truly expressed and heard. From the cave of the heart come cries

so surprising, and so universal, that aloneness is shattered and we know ourselves

to be undivided by race or ethnicity , by experienc or history.
