술이나 마약성 약물과 관련된 분야가 그림이나 시에 국한 된 것이 아니다.

어떤 의미에선 음악에 더 깊은 관련이 있음은 다 아는 일이다. 알콜류

음료 혹은 약물 과대가 그 사인이 되었던 현대,특히 1960년대 전후의

음악가들 봅딜란이나 존레논 그리고 도 팝음악의 전설적인 인물들,

이를테면 엘비스 프레슬리, 마이클 잭슨, ?, 등은 인공적인 도취제를 통해

영감을 얻거나 무대를 열광케하는 어떤 힘을 얻을 수 있었던 것으로 알려져 있다.

알코홀이나 약물의 중독이 미국의 저명한 스타 가수나 록그룹 음악인들을

죽음으로 내몬 사례들도 있었다. 재즈 가수 빌리 홀리데이는알콜 중독 증세에

시달리다 41세에 세상을 떠났고, Saints go marching in이라는 노래로

우리들에게 그 이름이 친숙한 루이 암스토릉과 더불어 1920년대에 미국에서

가장 유명한 재즈 음악인이었던 베이다 베크(Beiderbecke)도 알코홀 중세로

28세의 나이로 요절했다. 한편 2016년 노벨 문학 수상자인 팝음악가

봅딜란은 젊은 날 음악활동을 하는 동안 약물이나 보드카의 유혹에 빠져들기도

하였음다. 봅 달란의 데뷰곡 <바람에 날려>('Blowing in the wind)를

 쓰게 된 것은 그가 깊은 밤 카페에서 그의 그룹 친구들이 모여 떠들며

술을 마시던 중 떠오른 영감을 휘갈겨 메모한 것이 그 바탕이었다고 하였다.
아래는 1960년대이래 한국의 젊은 이들에게도 지속적으로 애창된 그 노래 말이다.

알코홀이 음악에 깊은 영향을 입힌 점은 스페인 집시들의 전통적인 음악인

플라멩코에서도 예외가 아니다. 그들의의 플라멩코와 비노 블랑크( 흰 포도주)는

뗄래야 뗄 수 없는 관계에 있다. 지인들간의 사적인 juerga 모임의 공간은

객석과 무대가 따로 없이 참가자들은 공연자와 관객으로 어울려 술을 나누고

플라멩코 춤추고 노래한다. 이 과정이 진행되는 동안 그 좁은 juerga 공간에서

'듀엔데'라는  최고조의 몰아적 상태, 즉 듀엔데가 일어난다.

이런 플라멩코 모임에서 그 듀엔데 현상은 비노 블랑코가 하나의 촉매제이다.

플라멩코의 춤과 노래의 현장에서 일어나는 이런 집단적 무의식의 도취적 현상

은 술의 힘이 간접적으로 정신에 가한 영향의 결과물이다. 한 마디로,

알코홀은 플라멩코에서 필수적인 요소이다. 기타리스트도 소리꾼도 투명한

유리잔에 담긴 비노 불랑코를 천천히 마시며 마음 깊은 곳에 고여있는

한의 이우성이 들릴 때까지 기다리는 것이다. 그리하여 소리꾼, 기타리스트

함께 모인 무리들은 자신도 모르게 그 듀엔데의 도취의 물결 속에다함께 휩쓸려

들게 되는 것이다.

듀엔데를 좀더 설명하자면 이러하다:
